I'd be lying if I said I was NOT expecting that betrayal. It was very obvious from the start... which made me not care for the book as much as many of you did. :( I liked Mare... but I just wasn't able to connect with her as much as I do with other main character from other books. The whole Cal thing was meh... I just didn't feel any sort of spark with them... I don't know. What did redeem the book for me was bringing Shade back I just had a feeling that he wasn't dead and once Julian gave that list to Mare I knew it in my heart that I was right! This story has potential and I'm not giving up on it yet... so hopefully the next book in the series blows me away as much as this first one did for other people!3.3ish starts for this one. :/
